Salma Hayek’s Strange Addiction: Breastfeeding
Salma Hayek has one of the strangest addictions that we’ve seen yet.
She’s addicted to breastfeeding. She says she’s like an alcoholic minus the alcohol. It always starts out with stopping in a week or a month and just continues.
Salma’s said that no matter how hard she tries to break the cycle of breastfeeding, she just can’t do it.
She said: “I’m like an alcoholic. It is like, I don’t care if I cry, I don’t care if I am fat, I am just going to do it for one more week, one more month, and then when I see how much good it is doing her and I can’t stop.”
It has been an ongoing problem for her for several years now. She gave birth to her daughter, Valentina, in 2007.
The thought of entering a rehabilitation program for this strange addiction has become more of a realistic possibility in the past several months. She’s been seen in videos very recently suckling another baby.
Hayek was so enthralled by her new child and the joys of motherhood that she considered quitting her acting career.
The 45-year-old actress stated that the way she saw things then was that of a 40-year-old woman her career only had about two years left anyway and why miss out on anytime with her child.
However, it was her supportive husband François-Henri Pinault, a billionaire in his own right, who gently persuaded her that with time she would long for the work again and it might be too late. He told her that she had a gift and talent and ought to see how far that could go. So the actress decided to balance both motherhood and career. The rest is history.
