Boulder Citizens Wait As Fire Rages On

Colorado is experiencing destructive fires in many areas, but citizens hope any Boulder, Colorado fire damage will be minimal.

Wildfires have caused some Boulder residents to be evacuated from their homes, but no fire has touched the city yet.

Residents of Colorado Springs and Northern Colorado have had to evacuate because fires breached city limits and destroyed many homes.

Boulder officials are trying to prevent damage by establishing fire lines. Firefighters are ready and air operations have begun to target the fires before they reach Boulder.

Officials will work on containing the fire, and many residents are on evacuation standby.

“It was like looking at the worst movie set you could imagine,” Gov. John Hickenlooper said after flying over the 9-square-mile fire late Tuesday. “It’s almost surreal. You look at that, and it’s like nothing I’ve seen before.”

A current map showing fire locations can be found here.
