Tennessee and other states offer tax-free weekends

It is that time of year again; sales tax holidays are once again upon us. Every so often states suspend their sales tax in an attempt to garner more shoppers and thus retail sales.

Every consumer dreams of these days and soon Tennessee residence will get their shot. From August 3rd to August 5th shoppers will enjoy sales-tax free clothing, art and school supplies and computers. Clothing must be under $100 and computer purchases must be under $1500 to qualify for the tax-free holiday.

Florida, Alabama and several other states in the south are running a tax-free weekend during the same time period as Tennessee. Connecticut is offering a tax-free weekend at the end of August.
