Is The GOP Putting Their Moral Values Ahead Of The Constitution?

With the recent announcement that the Republican candidate Romney has signed a pledge to “vigorously” enforce the pornography laws the question of First Amendment Rights comes under scrutiny. What constitutes “obscene” has been determined by the Supreme Court and to a degree pornography falls under the rights protected by the Constitution.

Morals aside, the party has been running on a platform of less governemnt interference with daily life and now they want to regulate what people can see online according to their standards of morality. Will it isolate their base voters, whom are primarily men? For a material that people seem to deny looking at, porn sites have a higher traffic score than any news or political web site so someone is looking at it.

Do the Republicans, or any political group for that matter, really have the right to put their values ahead of the Constitution, and the people it protects?
