University of Virginia Gets Playboy Nodas Top Party School
College students eagerly await the October issue of Playboy Magazine each year for its rankings of the country’s top party schools, nBC News reports.
This year, the University of Virginia located in Charlottesville, was awarded honors at the nation’s top party school from a field of about 100 competitors. The University is America’s oldest public institution of higher learning and was founded by President Thomas Jefferson in 1819.
Playboy officials base the annual rankings on rating the schools in the three categories of nightlife, sex and sports.
A spokesman for the University indicated that officials were displeased by the so-called Playboy honor, noting that they are most proud of their reputation in the quality of their teaching and research.
Other schools included in Playboy’s Top Ten List of Party Schools were the University of Southern California, the University of Florida, the University of Texas, the University of Wisconsin, the University of Georgia, Vanderbilt, Tulane, Texas Christian and Ohio State.
