Who Won The Debate? Most Agree Romney Came Out Victorious

Who Won the Presidential Debate

October 3, 2012 began the first of a series of three debates between Republican Presidential nominee, Mitt Romney and the incumbent President, Barack Obama.

It was held at the University of Denver, with Jim Lehrer as the moderator. According to pundits, viewers and social media responses, it seems Romney has emerged as the clear winner. Leading up to the debates, various polls had been showing Obama in the lead and people feel perhaps Obama didn’t feel as much pressure to go on the attack as perhaps Romney did.

Romney was tasked with proving he was likeable, easy to relate to and had a clear plan to get the US economy back on track. While Obama did okay, Romney was clear, concise and seemed to be very well prepared. At times, Obama seemed to fumble through his answers, while Romney appeared to have prepared something for every possible question and if not, he was very confident of his responses. Additionally, Romney showed he was very aware of the facts and this came through in the debate.
