This weekend for Veterans Day 2012, vets and active military will be able to enjoy a large array of freebies including free food, accommodations, theme park admittance and more. Some places that aren’t giving items away are doing special discounts in honor of the holiday.

Many restaurants are participating in free entrees for the veterans. Most of the participants require a military ID and provide a free entree, but not a drink or gratuity. Applebees, Chilis, Denny’s, and Olive Garden are among the long list of restaurants participating in the promotion.

Accommodations for veterans entitling them to one free room for the night are being provided by Bed and Breakfast Inns, which has over 600 locations to choose from. Other inns are offering discounts when showing an ID
Several free activities are available for the military on Veterans Day. The Brevard Zoo is offering free admission on Veterans Day. Universal Orlando is offering three-day park-to-park tickets for the weekend.

BJ’s Restaurant and Brewhouse- Veterans and those on active military duty will be able to get a free lunch entree or a one-topping mini or individual pizza.

Chili’s – Sunday, Nov. 11 2012. offer is available from 11am – 5pm on November 11, 2012 at participating Chili’s in the U.S. only. Dine-in from limited menu only; beverages and gratuity not included. Veterans and active duty military simply show proof of military service.

Denny’s Nov. 12 2012. Free all you can eat pancakes from 6 a.m. – 2 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 12 for all active, retirees, and veterans with a valid military ID or proof of military service. Offer available in every Denny’s nationwide.

Einstein Bagels Free Bagel- Receive a classic or signature bagel on Sunday November 11, 2012.

Golden Corral – Free meal, Monday Nov. 12: If you are a veteran, retired, currently serving, in the National Guard or Reserves, you are invited to participate in Golden Corral’s Military Appreciation Monday dinner. For more information visit

Great American Cookies® is honoring the brave men and women serving our country this year with a free cookie giveaway. On Sunday, November 11, patrons, either in uniform, carrying their military ID or proof of service, who stop by a Great American Cookies location will receive a free regular cookie of their choice.
