Toddler Found In Cage, While Father Was Passed Out
Toddler Locked Outside Naked and One Locked In Dog Crate
William Todd Lewallen Of Tulsa, OK was arrested after police officers found one of his children confined in a dog crate and another child wandering around outside naked. Lewallen is the father of the children.
Police were called to the home by neighbors who noticed that a four year old was naked, locked out of the family home and screaming for someone to open the door.
According to an ABC News report, the police officers had to break down a door to gain access to the home. They found a naked 18 month old child, locked in a dog crate and covered in waste. A third child was found naked and asleep in the father’s bedroom.
“After forcing their way inside, police discovered the toddler was covered in feces and that a 3-year-old child was asleep in another room. Their father was found asleep on a bed, ‘in an alcohol- or narcotics-induced stupor,'” explained Officer Leland Ashley.
Lewallen was passed out from consuming a mixture of drugs and alcohol.
The arresting officer notated on his report, “The defendant was unaware that a naked child had been locked out of his house and was outside in the 40 degree weather for over 20 minutes”.
Their mother had been at work when police arrived. She was not arrested, reports ABC News.
Lewallen is being held in the Tulsa County jail on $50,000 bond. He will appear in court Nov. 19, according to online jail records. No attorney was listed for him. He also had no listed telephone number.
All three children were removed from the home.
