Woman Dies on American Airlines Flight

A 25 year old woman died during a flight on American Airlines from Brazil to North Texas Wednesday.
According to an American spokesperson the Boeing 777 jet flight number 962 was leaving San Paolo, Brazil just after 1 a.m. on Wednesday destined for Dallas-Fort Worth Texas International Airport.

However, the plane took a three hour detour to Houston due to the medical emergency. The jet carrying 220 passengers and 14 crew members landed just after 6:30 a.m.

Houston police spokeswoman Jodi Silvia said that when homicide detectives reached the George Bush Intercontinental Airport they found no signs of trauma to the female victim and that an autopsy would be performed to determine the cause of death. The woman’s death does not appear to be caused by foul play.

American Airlines does do preventive care to stop these incidents, having extensive first aid kits and automated external defibrillators aboard their flights.
