Northville, Illinois-based Kraft Foods Group has recently issued a recall order for 22 different varieties of string cheese and string cheese “twists” products from its own label, as well as its Polly-O label. The recall was issued after it became known that these particular perishable products may expire or even change in coloration prior to the posted “Best When Used By” indicator listed on each package. The products in question came from a plant in Campbell, New York and all have printed expiration codes ranging from October 25th of this year to February 11th of next year.

Roughly 735,000 cases of these products were shipped to stores only throughout the United States. Kraft has been alerted by its customers to several issues of this premature expiration and has responded by ceasing its production and distribution of the cheese involved in the recall.

Kraft asks consumers who obtained these particular cheeses to avoid eating them, and instead return the relevant products to the vendor for either a product exchange or a full refund. Consumers who wish to contact Kraft’s Consumer Relations department with questions may call 800-816-9432 anytime between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Central time.
