Omaha, Nebraska – A video released by the Omaha Police Association was intended to highlight the need for society to break the cycle of violence that engulfs children from their earliest age into a thug or gang culture. The video has now gone viral under the caption of “Cursing Toddler”.
In all respects, the video is as reviling as it is abusive. It shows a toddler in diapers being sworn at by adults using all manner of profanity. At one point, the child is egged on to use the pejorative N-word as a means of acclimating the child into a culture that will likely lead to the infant being uneducated and violent.
Willie Hamilton, the executive director for the outreach program “Black Men United in Omaha”, denounced the behavior of adults in the video as abusive. He also castigated the Omaha Police Association for publishing it.
The video contains deeply offensive language and may also perpetuate negative stereotypes about all African-Americans. Mr. Hamilton believes that the police were motivated by racism when they published the video. For their part, they assert that they are making an effort to free children of the vicious cycle engulfing them long before they have developed the ability to choose right from wrong.
