Mama June Shannon was recently confronted about her daughter Alana Hamilton’s weight, which is spiraling out of control.

During a taping of The Doctors, Dr. Travis Stork and his co-stars expressed their unease over the 9-year-old reality star’s weight.

At just 4’6”, the famous pageant girl is weighing in at an astonishing 125 pounds.

According to reports, during the taping exerts warn the overweight girl that she is “obese” and they are in a “fight to save her life.”

“[Honey Boo Boo] is at risk for a myriad of life threatening diseases as a direct result of the poor food choices and lack of exercise modeled in the Thompson’s home,” a rep for the show tells ‘Radar.’

Honey Boo Boo also was given a bicycle from The Doctors.
The Doctors will check in on Honey Boo Boo’s progress over the next few months. A February 25 episode of the show will see how she has been responding to the regime.

Access Hollywood reports that Mama June is taking “no responsibility” for Alana’s weight.

The Daily Mail reports Honey Boo Boo was placed on an age-appropriate modified meal plan based on Stork’s bestselling book The Doctor’s Diet.

The CBS show also was partnering with a local nutritionist near the family to guide the new eating plan.

Honey Boo Boo’s weight has always been an issue to the critics of the TLC show. Many will say her looks offer a bad example to other families who are trying to keep their children’s weight under control. While June Shannon, Honey Boo Boo’s mom, has publicly acknowledged her weight loss, so far Alana has flown under the radar.

Childhood obesity has more than doubled in children and quadrupled in adolescents in the past 30 years, according to the CDC.

Mama June has long since struggled with her own obesity issues. Therefore, it’s possible a bit of denial could play a big part.

In June of 2014, Two years after debuting her 400-pound figure on the hit TLC reality-TV series “Mama June,” dropped an impressive 120 pounds and six dress sizes.

“I’ve always taken pride in how I look,” Shannon said at the time of her transformation. “I’m happy with the way I am now but I was also happy with myself when I was 400 pounds. I taught myself and my kids that you’ve got to be comfortable no matter what your size.”

The family’s reality show Here Comes Honey Boo Boo was cancelled after reports surfaced that Mama June was dating Mark McDaniel, who was convicted of child molestation.

The first show of The Doctors, featuring Honey Boo Boo will air on Feb 25. Check your local listings for more details.
