Jaimie Alexander series Blindspot has been renewed for a second second.
With strong ratings, the NBC crime drama was renewed this week
The program is the No. 1 new fall show among adults 18 to 49, and has reached 12.7 million viewers in its debut season.
“We are over the moon with the success of Blindspot and want to thank our producers and amazing cast for creating one of the most riveting shows on television,” NBC Entertainment president Jennifer Salke said in a press release Monday.
The series stars Alexander as an amnesiac woman covered in tattoos that provide clues to crimes. FBI Agent Kurt Weller (Sullivan Stapleton) becomes convinced the “Jane Doe” is his former neighbor, Taylor Shaw, who disappeared 25 years ago.
“Jaimie and Sullivan have done an amazing job of ratcheting up the tension each week in trying to unravel the mystery of Jane’s tattoos,” Salke added. “We literally can’t wait to see what the second season will bring.”
Blindspot also co-stars Rob Brown, Audrey Esparza and Ashley Johnson. Alexander is also known for playing Sif in the Marvel cinematic universe, while Stapleton portrayed Sgt. Damien Scott on Sky1 series Strike Back.
Blindspot airs Mondays at 10 p.m. ET.
